Park City, Utah: Winter Travel Guide

Ski/Snowboard Rentals:

We rented our skis and snowboards from SKIVALET PARK CITY. It was the easiest rental process I’ve ever had. You fill out your information online before your trip, they bring your rentals to your airbnb/VRBO and get you all fitted. They even bring a 1/2 size up and down in your boots to make sure everything fits properly. You set your own fitting time, and your pick up time whenever you are done with your trip! If for some reason your equipment doesn’t fit properly they will meet you at the bottom of the mountain free of charge!

Lift Tickets:

We ordered and paid for our lift tickets ahead of time here, they mail them to you… BUT beware ours didn’t come in time (neither did other couples we talked to)… NO WORRIES… all you do is go to the bottom of the main ski lift area (walking distance from Main Street) and wait in line for your ticket (this took us less than 5 minutes). You can also pick up your lift tickets at any lift ticket window at the base of the mountain in Mountain Village (see map below).

Where To Stay:

We booked our Airbnb about a month before our trip! We chose a location 1 block off Main Street. This was the perfect location because it was right in the heart of town (by all the shops and restaurants, no car needed). Walking distance from the lift ticket area, and ski lifts (we even walked in our boots with all our equipment and it was totally feasible). There is also a free bus in town that will take you to and from the lifts as well. This is why I suggest staying in the heart of town. This area is a short Uber/Lyft ride to Deer Valley (another ski mountain and town area).

Restaurants:

ChimAYO MEXICAN

This was a delicious Mexican Restaurant on Main Street

Ordered: Skinny Marg & Steak Fajitas (delicious)

The Glitretind Restaurant at Stein Eriksen Lodge

  • This was where we did an amazing private dinner on the rooftop terrace in a heated igloo. Hands down one of the coolest dining experiences I’ve ever had! I believe it was about $200 for the igloo plus the price of your food and drinks. Definitely worth it in my opinion. The igloo had; heaters, private music, blankets, candles, and stunning mountain views on almost all sides. They had 4 igloos total; 3 on one side of the hotel, and 1 secluded one (make sure you request this one because it’s completely private)!

  • Order: Meat & cheese platter, pretzel bread and butter, Steak & potatoes (everything was amazing)!

  • Dessert: We made the mistake of eating way too much and didn’t have any room for the chocolate fondue, so I highly suggest saving room for this.

501 On Main

  • This was the spot we went to when we got to our Airbnb, we wanted something quick for an afternoon snack, and it was probably one of my favorite meals. Devin (my boyfriend) and I split 3 things and I highly recommend all 3.

  • Order: Smashed Avocado Toast, Chef Civiche & Chips, Beet Salad (giving this spot a 10/10).

Breakfast/Coffee Shops:

Java Cow Cafe & Bakery

  • This was the cutest little cafe & bakery. We went here for breakfast one morning before we went skiing. The food was delicious!

  • Order: Breakfast burritos (pre made, so it’s very quick when you’re on the go), ham & cheese croissant, egg, bacon, ham bagel, vanilla almond milk lattes!

Bars:

No Name Saloon

  • This was the best bar I’ve been to. 10/10 highly recommend going to with your friends! They played oldies music the entire time and we jammed out for about 3 hours, drank, and ate delicious bar food.

  • They don’t take reservations, so make sure you plan for time to wait in line. This is a very popular spot in PC. The men in our group waited in line for the girls for about 30 minutes!

  • Food Ordered: Sweet Potato Tater Tots, Chicken Quesadilla, Loaded Tater Tots

  • Drinks: Spicy Paloma (this was delicious, not too sweet or spicy)

Perfect bar to grab some yummy food, listen to good music, and enjoy a drink with friends!

Eats On The Mountain/Apres Ski:

TIP:

  • I suggest downloading the “Epic MIX” App on your phone…

  • WHAT IS IT?

    • Resorts included on EpicMix: Vail, Beaver Creek, Breck, Keystone, Crested Butte, Whistler Blackcomb, Park City, Heavenly, Northstar, Kirkwood, Stevens Pass, Stowe, Afton Alps, Wilmot, Mount Sunapee, Okemo, and Mt. Brighton

    • App Features:

      • Find your location on every resort trail map

      • Filter your trail map by lift and trail status, including up-to-the-minute grooming information

      • Track the vertical feet you have skied over a day, season or your lifetime

      • Check mountain conditions through on mountain web cams

      • Get up to date weather and snowfall information for every resort

      • View lift status and wait time to plan your ski route

  • WHY YOU NEED THE APP FOR “ON MOUNTAIN” LUNCH OR SNACK BREAKS?

    • During COVID you need a reservation at most “on the mountain” locations. The time slots to reserve open at 7AM everyday, we made sure to wake up and make reservations to ensure we could stop in and eat lunch somewhere.

Grab some food and drink… Après-ski!

Pig Pen Saloon

  • This was our favorite location to Apres Ski (drink midday or post skiing). It was a super fun atmosphere, you can sit inside or outside on the patio and look at the mountain!

  • Order: American Mules (so yummy), Black Feather Toddy, Beer Cheese +Pretzels, Buffalo Chicken Nachos, Wings, etc.

  • You do not need a reservation for this location, we walked right in and were able to get a table within a couple of minutes!

Transportation:

We rented a Lyft from the airport in Salt Lake City. Make sure you check both Uber and Lyft when you land. Lyft was about half the price of Uber for us. It was only a 45 minute drive into Park City. On the way back to the airport we really struggled to find a ride, took us almost two hours to get a Lyft, so make sure you schedule ahead of time or order WAY in advance. We almost missed our flight because there were no available rides in the area on Sunday morning.
